Privacy policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and this privacy policy.

Processing of personal data

As part of booking appointments and treatment, we collect personal data required to provide our medical services. This data is treated confidentially and is not shared with third parties unless required by law or necessary for treatment.

Online referral form

Referring physicians can refer patients to us via the online form on the "Referring Physicians" page. This transmits information about the patient (name, date of birth, contact details, insurance), medical information (reason for referral or diagnosis, comments, optionally up to three PDF documents) and the referring person's contact details. Health data is sensitive personal data within the meaning of the FADP.

Transmission from the browser to our server is encrypted (HTTPS). The server immediately forwards the referral by email to our practice's HIN (Health Info Net) secured mailbox and does not store it itself. We use this information exclusively to process the referral and for the subsequent treatment; it becomes part of the medical record and is subject to medical confidentiality. To prevent abuse, the IP address of the submitting device is kept in the server's memory for at most one hour in order to limit the number of submissions.

By submitting the form, the referring person confirms their consent to this transmission.

On request ("Remember my details on this device"), only the referring person's details (name, title, practice, email, phone) are stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage) so they can be filled in automatically next time. This data does not leave your device, and patient or health data is never stored locally. You can remove it at any time via "Clear saved details" in the form or through your browser settings.

Cookies, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

This website uses Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google, to load Google Analytics, a web analytics service that helps us understand and continuously improve how our website is used. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics use cookies that collect information about your use of the website (e.g. IP address, pages visited) and transmit it to Google's servers, potentially including the United States. Google is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of data protection within the meaning of the FADP.

These services are only loaded if you have explicitly given your consent in the cookie banner - no data is transmitted to Google before your consent. You can withdraw or re-grant your consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

The directions map (Google Maps) embedded on the contact page loads automatically if you have given your consent in the cookie banner. Without consent, it is only loaded once you actively click "Load map" - only at that point is a connection made to Google's servers.

The BLS journey planner embedded on the contact page likewise loads automatically if you have given your consent in the cookie banner. Without consent, it is only loaded once you actively click "Plan your journey" - only at that point is a connection made to BLS's servers. While you type a starting point, what you enter is sent to the Swiss federal geodata service (api3.geo.admin.ch) to suggest places. Submitting the search opens the online timetable on bls.ch, which is covered by BLS's own privacy policy.
